The present study compared a novel HPV genotyping reagent using a Luminex device, which enables simultaneous quantitation of multiple targets using fluorescent beads, and gene-specific multiplex polymerase chain reaction (Luminex method) with approved in vitro diagnostics. Of the samples positive by both methods, there was a 67.2% correlation in the viral type(s) detected. In conclusion, Luminex suspension array showed a remarkably higher sensitivity compared with RLB.
